The facts

A sports agent and a baseball trainer were accused of working with boat captains, document forgers and transporters to get elite Cuban players out of Cuba. The players were taken to third countries such as Mexico, where they obtained false residency papers. False documents were then submitted to U.S. officials to get them into the country and onto big-league contracts. Several players later signed deals worth millions.
