The Twenty-One

People v. Shakur (1971)

Charge: Conspiracy (alleged bombing and attack plot)Court: New York Supreme Court, New York CountyState: New YorkDocket: Blowback

The facts

Twenty-one members of a Black political party were indicted and arrested by a special police intelligence unit in a large city. Prosecutors said the group had an overall plan to harass and destroy the parts of society the accused saw as the 'power structure', including by planting bombs. Several of the accused stayed in jail for more than two years waiting for trial. The trial became the longest criminal trial the state had ever seen. In the end the jury had to decide whether a real conspiracy existed, or only talk.

You have the facts the court had. Guilty or not guilty? Call it in the game with your friends, then see what the court actually decided. Wrong call, you drink.
