The facts

During a night game in Chicago in September 2002, a spectator in his thirties and his son jumped out of the stands and ran onto the field. They charged the visiting team's veteran first-base coach from behind and began punching him. Players from both teams rushed in and pinned the attackers until security arrived. The coach was left with cuts and some hearing loss in one ear. The father was charged with felony aggravated battery.
