State v. Hunter (1987)

Charge: Felony murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated batteryCourt: Supreme Court of KansasState: KansasDocket: No Choice

The facts

A hitchhiker was picked up by a group travelling with guns. One of them showed off his weapons and talked about killings he had already done. Over the days that followed, the group seized people, robbed them and shot two of them dead. The hitchhiker was charged with the killings and the kidnappings. He said he stayed with the group and did as he was told only because he believed he would be shot himself if he tried to get away.
