United States v. Flenory (2008)

Charge: Running a continuing criminal enterprise; conspiracy to launder moneyCourt: U.S. District Court, Eastern District of MichiganState: MichiganDocket: Kingpins

The facts

Two brothers were accused of leading a drug organisation that shipped huge amounts of cocaine across several states. Prosecutors said that at its peak it had more than five hundred people working for it and brought in millions of dollars. The brothers set up a music company that promoted rap artists. Prosecutors said the record label was a front: it hid where the drug money came from and helped wash it clean. One brother faced two charges: running a criminal enterprise, and conspiring to launder money.
