The facts

Two brothers are said to have led a huge foreign drug cartel. Prosecutors say it shipped more than 200 tons of cocaine into the country over twelve years, hidden in concrete posts, ceramic tiles, coffee, gas cylinders and pumpkin containers. The brothers were jailed in their home country in the mid-1990s, but prosecutors say they kept directing shipments from behind bars through a son and others. Drug money was allegedly washed through a chain of more than 400 pharmacies. The older brother was extradited to face a charge of conspiring to import cocaine.
