United States v. Twigg (1978)
Charge: Manufacturing methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture itCourt: U.S. Court of Appeals, Third CircuitState: New JerseyDocket: Set Up
The facts
Federal drug agents recruited a convicted drug chemist to go and set up an illegal laboratory. The agents supplied the hard-to-get chemical, much of the glassware and a rented farmhouse, and arranged the remaining purchases under a business name they provided. One man put up money and distribution contacts. Another joined on the day production began, mainly to repay a debt, and only ran errands under the chemist's direction. Both were charged with making the drug.
