The facts
Police watched a man drive around and look closely at several banks. He put on sunglasses, a knitted cap pulled down low, white gloves and a black eyepatch. He carried a loaded revolver in his jacket pocket and wore a police scanner on his belt. He walked up to a bank and tried the front door. It was locked. He ran back to his car and drove off; police stopped him as he was pulling off his jacket. He never got inside and never demanded money. The charge is attempted armed robbery.
